Our Translator Standard, even though it translates only in automatic mode (on-the-fly mode), is highly sensitive to context.
Take a look at these three sentences:
Quiero algo de beber.
Quiero algo de pan.
Quiero algo de Antonio.
Now, take a look at the three translations:
I want something to drink.
I want a little bit of bread.
I want something belonging to Antonio.
You will notice that the adjective particle ”algo de” is translated completely different in each instance.
In sentence #1 it is translated as “something”
In sentence #2 it is translated as “a little bit of”
In sentence #3 it is translated as “something belonging to”
In this tip, we would like to point out three things:
Word Magic is constantly improving its translation engine. Each successive version – even each free update—contains enormous advances in the accuracy of the translation and the size of its dictionaries. You should take advantage of these free updates.
If your present version does not translate these three sentences correctly, you should check our web site for newer versions and/or updates. Updates are free. New versions are sold at a very reduced price.
Just for comparison, here is an example of how OTHER translation programs (non-context-sensitive) actually translate:
I want something of drinking.
I want something of bread.
I want something of Antonio.
