We will start this new series of tips taken from actual questions asked from our Users. The tips contain issues related to real-life operation of our Professional Text Translator, mainly in Interactive Mode.
One these Users is a translator by profession and he is currently translating medical articles containing highly specialized terminology.
He first commented to us that many terms –perhaps hundreds of them-- were missing from our general dictionary. So, our first tip to him was to acquire our add-on Medical Dictionary, which contains 250,000 translations from Spanish to English and 250,000 from English to Spanish.
He asked if the 250,000 word count included inflected terms, such plurals, feminines and conjugated verbs. We replied “No. This number applies to uninflected entries only.”
If we take into account inflected entries (which by the way are available through the translator and through the Dictionary) the number would be several millions.
After installing the Medical add-on Dictionary, he is absolutely fascinated.
So, our tip for this week is: If you are translating medical texts, install our Medical add-on Dictionary!
